The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (2006 Remaster)

News of Roberta Flack's death led me to a memory..... It was Winter of 1972, and I was traveling by Greyhound Bus, with a good friend, to NYC to visit some mutual friends that had migrated there from Atlanta...... My friend wanted to 'stretch out' for a nap, so I looked around for an 'empty seat'.....At that very minute, a girl...my age...arose from her seat and departed the bus to transfer to another vehicle, leaving an available seat, next to an English Professor, my age, also in transit to NYC.....We chatted about 17th Century Metaphysical Poetry for an hour or two, until our Bus arrived in the Big Apple.....I was asked to join my new companion at an apartment in Soho.....a cold water flat for 'starving artists'.....I accepted this offer and said farewell to my traveling companion from Atlanta and shacked up, under covers,  and spent the next couple of days 'making love'.....to a Roberta Flack Recording......'on repeat'..........We left New York and traveled, by bus, to Richmond, where we spent another couple of days....abed.....
